Post Boston

Recovered pretty well from Boston and have enjoyed our time in Washington and Atlanta, off to LA tomorrow for a few days and then off to Vegas.

Week in Summary 46.05k 3h35 minutes.

Wed 8.05km 40 minute run around Washington including taking in the Washington Monument and US Capitol. Sightseeing included the Holocaust Museum which was very emotional and NASA which was very interesting.

Thurs 8.5km 40 minute run, same route as yesterday but went a little further, took camera with me and grabbed some pretty cool photos. Sightseeing included the National Museum, War Memorial and Washington Museum.

Fri 10.1km 45 minute run, last run in Washington, ran around the Memorial and saw some of the US army running around there, doing there chants etc. Flew to Atlanta.

Sat 6.5km 30 minute run. Quick run around Suburban Atlanta. Weather was shocking today, thunderstorms and lightening but ended up finding a small window of opportunity and got a quick run in. Had a great dinner with quite a few vodkas and ended up on stage as a result of wearing my Boston Jacket as the singer had also run the Marathon on Monday, apparently he used to sing for Earth, Wind and Fire.

Sun 12.9km 1 hour run through the forest, very enjoyable run. Sightseeing included The Aquarium and World of Coke, you could sample 60 different types of drink from all the different regions of the world. They were rather sickly after a while, the brother in law tried all of them.

Have recovered really well, the quads, left hip and calves were sore for a couple of days, esp the quads with the stairs. A couple of massages, use of the stick, the recovery skins have all played a part in the recovery process. It also appears as though my sinuses which have been playing up on and off for the whole trip are on the improve which may be a result of the warmer weather and the increased use of sudafed.

Looking forward to the rest of our trip and will try and do around 50-60km this week, with the plan to then try and steadily increase the kms in the leadup to Perth.
